Sandwell Apartment Blocks
Project Brief
Lovells needed someone to decorate the exterior of their buildings in a flame-resistant coating, while also giving the building an eye-catching makeover that could be seen from the M6 motorway. They chose to work with GI Sykes because we had the knowledge and experience they required – and provided a competitive quote. They also instructed us to complete the interior decoration.
What we did:
The project lasted for 3 years, with each block taking 6 months to complete at a cost of £450,000. We were contracted to complete the external decoration to the enveloped sections of the building, coating them in a flame-resistant coating from Giromax and keeping them in line with the government guidelines for high rise buildings.
Working around other trades and utilising cherry pickers meant health & safety was paramount. We were also instructed to decorate the internal communal areas with a specialist protective coated paint that has a durable finish and comes with a 10-year guarantee.
