PP Control and Automation

We erected scaffold edge protection along three sides of the work area and access to the roof was provided via a scissor lift. 

Following a roof survey, to establish the extent of the issues, we worked closely with Giromax who manufacture and supply specialist coatings for profile steel roofs.

The existing roof and gutters were jet washed and cleaned to remove the loose coating and vegetation. Preparing the roof to receive the new roof coatings. Damaged roof sheets were replaced with new and all existing fixings were cleaned or replaced where necessary.

Cut edge corrosion on sheet laps and tops of skylights were treated with Girosil Edge RC-E before all four roof banks were primed and coated in Girosil Roofcoat RC in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidance by our approved, fully trained contractors.

The central valley gutter was relined with aluminium due to severe corrosion on the existing structure. The end trimline gutters were cleaned out and inspected before Girosil Gutter RC-G coating was applied to all the gutters to create a watertight finish.

The project was regularly inspected by a Giromax Representative to ensure the coating was applied to the required thickness and on completion, we provided the client with a 20-year guarantee.
