5 Things On-Site Spraying Contractors Don’t Want You To Know

on-site spraying

Shhhhh… come closer… we’re going to tell you a few secrets!

It’s always fun to learn a little of the behind-the-scenes stuff, so we thought we’d dedicate this blog to giving you five top secret things that spraying contractors don’t want you to know…

What is On-Site Paint Spraying?

Nope – not the first secret, just a little background.

On-site paint spraying is when you get professionals to come to your premises and give it a really fantastic spruce up. We revitalise your old cladding, bring life to fading window frames, make shutters simply magnificent, and enliven the place with some vitality of colour and shine.

Plus, beyond that, we make everything last longer with a layer of protection that keeps it all weatherproof and UV resistant for years to come.

Time for the secrets…

1 – We Love Less Work

Are we lazy? Nope, but who wants to work hard when you can work smart instead?

Our site spraying is fast, which means we can afford to get more time off.

Of course, it’s not all one-sided benefits. Efficient working means there’s minimal downtime for you, too. We’re not spending weeks on a job when it can be done in a couple of days – plus we don’t charge you for work when we’re not working, so that’s a lot less cash spent on labour.

2 – We’re A Bit Snobby

On-site spraying contractors think their finish is superior to paintbrushes.

No, scratch that – we know our finish is superior to paintbrushes: it’s smoother, much more even, and means there’s less risk of chipping.

And if that makes us paint-technique snobs, then so be it; we’ll wear that with pride.

3 – You Can Buy Machines Just Like Ours

We’ve got the latest tech, but there’s nothing stopping you getting it yourself and replacing us, and doing the job yourself. In fact, you, too, can be an on-site spraying contractor.

All you need to do is:

  • Buy a spray machine… It’s a pretty hefty investment, but you get a great job out of it!
  • Get training… We don’t just let anyone have a go. It’d be dangerous and make a mess, so get the training, and lots of it.
  • Get experience… Once you’re done learning, it’s time to go out and do it. Maybe the first few times don’t look so great, but over time you’ll build up the experience, and in a few years (maybe 5 to 10), you’ll be pretty decent at it.
  • Buy decent kit… It’s not just the spray machine, there’s a whole load of other equipment that you’ll need, but don’t worry, it’s all easily available. Just don’t hold back with that credit card.
  • Get a trade account… You’ll need this for the pro-quality products (and a reasonable discount in some places).
  • Promote your business… If you want to be a professional on-site sprayer, you’ll need a few customers.
  • Do the job… It’s not just talk, you have to get your hands dirty (so to speak; really, you should keep your hands nice and clean).
  • Store the equipment… Don’t forget to find somewhere to keep it all. Maybe your family won’t mind losing the garage, the living room, a bedroom, and that bit around the back that no one uses anyway.

Phew – that’s it. Simple really!

Or… You can just use people who do this every day for a living because we’ve done all that, and we’re pretty good at it now.

4 – Cleaning Up Isn’t As Hard As We Pretend

Anyone who has ever painted anything will know cleaning up is the worst. There are splatters to sort and clean, dust sheets to fold, brushes to clean – it goes on and on.

Definitely a low point for the project.

Not so for professional on-site spraying contractors. We have it easy as spraying minimises splatter, and we don’t have any brushes to clean. We just load up the equipment, remove the protective coverings and we’re outta there!

5 – We’re All Driving Ferraris

Because on-site spraying contractors can be a bit more expensive than traditional painters, we make a ton more cash and have enough to provide Ferraris for every employee, right?

Hmm… OK, this one’s not true. It’s not even really a dream.

The problem is that spraying is so much longer lasting than painting, you won’t need us to come back as often. It’s a little more on the day, but over time, we’re actually cheaper.

Being long-lasting is more of a benefit to our customers than to us. On-site spraying means your building keeps its look for longer and can resist the onslaught of UK weather – why would anyone call us back?

Repeat business is there, of course, but it can really be many years before we’re asked to return. Instead, we have to rely on new customers, drawn in by our outstanding testimonials (thanks for those!) and reputation for excellent work. Thankfully, we have both.
