G.I. Sykes are pleased to announce that it has achieved ISO 9001 and 14001 accreditation standards, all part of its ongoing commitment to quality standards and environmental conformity.
Managing Director Richard Sykes stated "This is a great feather in our cap, we have worked really hard to achieve these standards. I am really proud of the effort everyone across the business has contributed in achieving this accolade. This is an imperative standard for us to maintain, as it is a defacto standard when bidding for any business in this industry. It is also key to keep our processes and procedures completely up to date, so that we can continue to offer the quality and reliability of service our customers have come to rely on"
G.I. Sykes has said farewell to a worker who has been with the family business through three generations.
Retiring employee Gary Cooper, aged 65, from decorating and building firm GI Sykes Limited, hung up his spirit level on May 21 after 48 years with the Hayes Lane firm.
Mr Cooper, from Barn Owl Walk, Brierley Hill, began working for GI Sykes as a school leaver and has been with the company ever since.
Contracts director Jason Sykes said: "He started work with my grandad Richard Sykes Snr in the early sixties then continued with my father Gary Sykes for a good many years and then for myself and my brother.
"Gary was a well respected and major part within our workforce and he will be greatly missed, all the staff wish him a happy and long retirement."
